So Takara Tomy has dropped a promotional video that details their new ‘Synergex’ series, a new line that looks to exclusively collaborate with other brands and create crossover figures. We’ve seen a few collaborations in the last few years, with Jurassic Park, Top Gun and even Back To The Future seeing some rad shifting vehicles – but the Synergex line looks to amp it up a bit.
In the teaser below, a Zoids x Transformers collab shows Optimus suiting up as a Shield Liger before some details are shown for a Godzilla x Transformers range that has Megatron turning into the giant atomic lizard to battle a Mecha Godzilla Prime.
Then, somewhat out of left field, the Monster Hunter logo is shown next to the Transformers 40th anniversary symbol.
What on Earth.
Nothing is revealed yet, but it’s a crazy thought to imagine the potential here. A Rathalos that turns into Starscream? A Deviljho Megatron?
Optimus Primal Rajang?
As a fun side note, they also announced a Macross 7 x Transformers collaboration – which is a gas when you think about how the character Jetfire has basically always been a Macross transforming jet.
2025 looks to be a really exciting year for Transformers fans – and Monster Hunter fans, considering.
What kind of crazy stuff do you think could be done with a Monster Hunter X Transformers toy line? Do you think Optimus Prime would be a Longsword user? Let me know in the comments or on social media.
