Take A Look At The Dimension Bending Fun Of The Plucky Squire In New Gameplay Video

Story time has never been more interactive

The Plucky Squire is a game that deftly oozes charm and potential. Every snippet and tease has been packed full of fun promise – and today a new video has been released to really get down to business of how the sometimes-3D-and-sometimes-2D storybook adventure is going to warp our minds to literally think outside the page:

In the video we get to see a raw example of storybook troubleshooting in action, with Jot literally leaping off the page and out of the 2D realm of drawn art to start manipulating the book itself. Lifting and tilting the pages actually shifts loose items within them, shunting a stone block that serves as an entry point back into the 2D realm. Manoeuvring this helpful brick allows Jot to then re-enter the story in particular areas to access enemies, treasure and puzzle solutions. It is fantastic, it is creative – it is The Plucky Squire.

It’s hard to imagine that I could be even more keen for the game, but after seeing the delightfully fun gimmick in action – and knowing it can only get more creative as the game progresses – I am positively vibrating with excitement.

The Plucky Squire is on track to release on  PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch in 2024.
