Tearaway Unfolded Companion App Trailer

Unleash the creative beast within

Tearaway was one of the Vita’s coolest little indie gems, and the PS4 version is shaping up to be just as cool (and prettier) The original game had a lot of elements that used the in-built camera on the Vita to add some pizzazz to the gameplay (like taking a horrendous selfie and sticking it to the head of a paper mache duck). The clever kids at MM are bringing that tomfoolery over to the PS4 with the use of a companion app, and it look’s pretty nifty indeed.

Playstation have just released a trailer & press release showing just how the app works in game:

The companion app works using the official PlayStation app, which can be download for free from app stores on smart phones and tablets. The Tearaway Unfolded Companion App can also be used on the PS4 link “second-screen” function using a PS Vita.Key features to guide interaction with the exquisite papery world include:
  • The trusty cutting mat – one of the main ways to let your creative juices flow and draw whatever your heart desires. Draw a heart or flower, hit the stamp icon and your creation will be floating through the skies of the game.
  • Using the camera of your chosen device, take photos of the real world and import them onto the cutting mat. The imported photos can then be used to texturise the game.
  • The Messenger customisation screen lets you personalise your messenger to create new decorations and costumes…or even a beard!
  • Tearaway Unfolded is context sensitive, meaning you can change what the messenger looks like during real time whilst your friends are playing.
Tearaway Unfolded launches Wednesday 9th September on PS4. Check back for our full review of the game!
