Overwatch is no stranger to android-type beings appearing in their games – but the latest crossover has brought a completely different flavour of robot-kind, with the greatest hits of the YoRHa crew now appearing as legendary skins for a hefty chunk of the healing cast:

While there was a small slip up in the form of an early social media post a week or so back, people are still pretty surprised by the breadth of the collab – even if there is a conspicuous lack of a Tank character within the line up:
- Kiriko as 2B
- Wuyang as 9S
- Vendetta as A2
- Mercy as Commander White
- Lifeweaver as Adam
One of the more curious aspects of this collaboration is absolutely the inclusion of the little ‘Pod’ robo-buddies from the game, serving as little floating companions on a few of the skins. While I am hesitant to refer to it as visual clutter, I do wonder if people will be caught out by the higher visibility of their character silhouette with an added robot friend fluttering around their shoulder. Am I over thinking it? Maybe.
The Overwatch x Project YoRHa collaboration is live in-game through 24 March AEDT as part of the Overwatch Season 1 mid-season update, so if you have a hankerin’ for some android clankerin’, jump in and check out the dedicated in-game Event Hub with challenges and an earnable Emil weapon charm.
What do you think of the Overwatch x Project YoRHa crossover? Feel like we were robbed of a Reinhardt skin with him dressed as 2B? Tell us all about it in the comments or on our social media.
