The Pokémon Scarlet And Violet DLC Is Bringing Back All Our Favourite Starters

Bulbasaur, I will always choose you

A feature trailer has arrived for the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet titles, detailing what he can expect from it’s upcoming DLC.

The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero! promises a slew of new Pokémon, storylines and locations to collect and explore – with an exciting note being that all the classic ‘Starter’ Pokémon from past titles will now appear within the game!

Disregard everything, acquire Bulbasaur immediately:

As a DLC package, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero! is split into two updates that each contain their own unique experience. These include:

  • The Teal Mask
Step out of the Paldea region as you take a school trip to the land of Kitakami. There, you’ll meet new people and Pokémon while unraveling the mysteries behind the area’s folk tales.
  • The Indigo Disk
The story continues as you become an exchange student and visit Blueberry Academy. Most of this unusual school is located under the ocean, and its curriculum emphasizes Pokémon battling.

With a trip to a traditional land with a Pokémon-themed mystery and a visit to underwater Pokémon-Hogwarts, both of these updates sound pretty beefy. The website for the content also promises a huge addition of over 230 familiar Pokémon that had not previously appeared in either Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet.

The DLC will release in two separate content patches, with the The Teal Mask coming in September.
