Analogue is dropping a positively sick limited range of their Pocket handhelds, delving into the sweet 90’s “transparent tech”-core that is beloved by all crusty, elderly gaming beings like myself.
It’s a another version of their previously released Analogue Pocket, but clearly the best version because it’s see-through (duh).

The unit is a corker, with a classic profile that prods all the right nostalgia glands. At first glance, you may simply believe it to be a neat little emulation device – but when you take a closer look at the specifications of the thing, you’ll be shocked to learn that it will actually read the original cartridges from those classic devices.
Basically the rear port comes with a range of simple plug and play adapters to allow it to read carts from all manner of banger devices. Straight out the gate, you can slap in Game Boy, Game Boy Color & Game Boy Advance game cartridges; or make use of the adapters to dive into the Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket and Atari Lynx library of games.
Of course, that does not mean the device is limited to physical media – you can absolutely run any ROM that you legally own. Yup, nothing better than the refreshing taste of a legally acquired ROM, running on the device that is not built to play anything illegal. What was I saying again? I forget.
By any metric, this is a flat-out sexy bit of kit. There is just one catch – it is a limited edition version of the console. While I have never purchased an Analogue Pocket, the response from most existing fans is one of despair as they lament previous limited-edition sales being a frenzy. If you want one of these things, best temper yourself and prepare for disappointment; the sale will be both fast AND furious.
