Two New Pokémon Trailers Show Off A New Evolution And Returning Mechanics

Two new update trailers!

The release dates for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl as well as the open-world adventure Pokémon Legends Arceus are inching ever closer. Though we had a pretty big update a bit over a month ago where we got a good look at both games, the Pokémon Company has dropped two new trailers, one for each game, that have a bunch of fresh details.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

In the new trailer, we get confirmation that the Pokétch, the watch that used to be on the second Nintendo DS screen, is returning. It will occupy the top right corner of the screen and retains all of its functions including step counting, friendship meter and item dowsing. A new feature is the ability to call wild Pokémon to use hidden moves (like cut and rock climb) from it which is really handy.

Poffins also make a return including the cute mini-game as you make them. Amity Square returns where you can take six Pokémon for a stroll. You can make Poffins in Amity Square with your Pokémon that will result in them being of higher quality. We also get our first look at three returning characters Gardenia, Riley and Cheryl.

Pokémon Legends Arceus

In the other new trailer, we get to see some more new footage of Arceus, including a new flute item, called the Celestica flute, that allows you to summon special mountable Pokémon (Wyrdeer, Basculegion and Braviary). We also get to see the player catch Pokémon while riding on Basculegion which is really cool. We get introduced to some new characters called Wardens, specifically Mai, Iscan, Lian and Arezu, who all protect special Pokémon.

In Jubilife Village we will be able to shop, change our appearance, including hairstyles, take photos in a photo studio and more. A wide array of possible outfit choices are shown off and the customisation options look really great.

We also get introduced to the idea of Pokémon nobles who are in a frenzied state which is different to the red-eyed agro state we have seen before. It’s more like a boss battle as they are stronger than their normal counterparts. We get introduced to Kleavor the axe Pokémon who is ‘Lord of the Woods’. Kleavor is a new bug-rock type who evolves from Scyther.

What do you think of these new snippets of information and how interesting is Kleavor? Which game are you most excited for? Let us know in the comments or on our social media.
