This morning, publisher/developer behind Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 announced a partnership with (now) giant studio Epic. With this partnership came the news that instead of launching The Division 2 on Steam (like a normal AAA studio would), they would be launching it on the Epic Store alongside uPlay. On top of this, Ubisoft will also release “additional select titles” on Epic’s platform over the next year. If you preordered The Division 2 already, fear not as preorders from any other online stores would not be affected by this change.
We entrust Epic to deliver a smooth journery for our fans, from pre-ordering the game and enjoying our Beta to the launch… Epic continues to disrupt the video game industry, and their third party digital distrbiution model is the latest example of something Ubisoft wants to support.” – Chris Early, Vice President of Partnerships at Ubisoft
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 will launch for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on March 15th.
