Ubisoft has announced The Division Resurgence, a free-to-play third-person open-world shooter for mobile devices.
Billed as “canon opus,” Resurgence is a new and independent story set in post-crisis New York City where players will experience unique perspectives of key stories from the mainline titles in either solo or co-op. Ubisoft says that Resurgence will feature story missions and world activities while building on the original game modes and bringing in new gear and weapons. Players will meet new characters and face off against new challenging enemies while trying to protect civilians from hostile factions.
Ubisoft is promising an experience tailored for handheld devices without compromising The Division’s core gameplay loop. No release information has been detailed, although the trailer says that it is “coming soon” to Android and iOS devices.
