Ubisoft Announces Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint

After a number of leaks and whispers, Ubisoft has today officially unveiled Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, the latest game in the Ghost Recon franchise. It’s scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 4th.

Breakpoint, like Wildlands before it, will be an open-world, third-person, military shooter that can be played solo or up to four-player co-op. With a heavier focus on survival and stealth, Breakpoint promises to give the player various options when it comes to enemy encounters, as well as new challenges to overcome such as fatigue and the environment itself. New features such as prone camo that allows you to blend into your surroundings and the ability to carry downed teammates look to further improve on the formula that Wildlands built.

You will fill the boots of a Ghost Agent, stranded on the diverse island of Auroa after your helicopter is shot down by The Wolves, a group of ex-military lead by former Ghost member L.t Colonel Cole D. Walker, voiced by Jon Bernthal, as seen in Netflix’s The Punisher and The Walking Dead. This predicament leaves your team behind enemy lines, meaning your style of gameplay will change dramatically from Wildlands as you go from the hunter to the hunted.

Skills, classes and equipment will all play a large role in gameplay and cooperation will be pivotal while playing with others. Progression from the main campaign will also be transferable to a PvP mode that will also be available on launch. Breakpoint will also be supported with post-launch content that will include story arcs, classes and more.

There are a number of different versions available:

• The Gold Edition will include the base game and the Year 1 Pass.
• The Ultimate Edition will include the base game, the Year 1 Pass and the Ultimate Pack.
• The Wolves Collector Edition will include the base game, the Year 1 Pass, the Ultimate Pack, a Ubicollectibles® high-end figurine of Lt. Colonel Cole D. Walker, a Steelbook®, exclusive lithographs, Walker’s dog tag, a waterproof map of Auroa as well as the soundtrack.
• The standalone Ubicollectibles figurine of Nomad is available for preorder on the Ubisoft store.
