With a big WHOMP of dragon wings beating, we have a release date for the next expansion for World of Warcraft – 29 November AEST.
An expansion that is all things draconic to all those that love draconic things, it has your needs covered if you hunger for fantasy dragons. World of Warcraft executive producer Holly Longdale had quote of her own with the news, inviting everyone invested in the fate of Azeroth to enjoy what comes next:
“Dragonflight was crafted with our incredible community in mind and with the desire to return to what we all love most dearly: the splendour of Azeroth and its characters, with our players cast as heroes,”
“We invite everyone into this new adventure where we will bask in the landscape of dragons, become a part of their ancient legacy, and watch the secrets of this land unfold together.”

The expansion definitely seems to embrace the fantastical nature of the classic Warcraft series, and may be edging away from the more mature and dark story beats that have defined the last few expansions – There was an unmistakable amount of joy present within my own interview with the developers of Dragonflight that left me feeling very positive – but really it comes down to what is delivered on the day.
