Wrestler Will Ospreay Made A Huge Assassin’s Creed-Inspired Entrance During AEW All-In London

We work in the shadows to serve the fight

British wrestler Will Ospreay made a grand Assassin’s Creed Shadow-themed entrance for his match at the recent AEW All-In PPV, complete with well wishes from Ezio himself.

All-In is the biggest pay-per-view event in All Elite Wrestling’s calendar, with this year’s iteration drawing over 50,000 fans to London’s Webley Stadium to see huge matches like Bryan Danielson vs Swerve Strickland for the AEW Championship and the stacked Casino Gauntlet Match. But, for the British fans in attendance and many watching around the world, the big ticket bout was MJF defending his “American” Championship against England’s own Will Ospreay.

Now, Ospreay is a noted long-time of the Assassin’s Creed series, and though it’s hard to catch, there are some telltale signs. His moniker is the Aerial Assassin, his signature move is called the Hidden Blade, he would often wear Assassin’s Creed costumes to the ring when he worked on the indies, and, oh yeah, he has a whopping great Assassin’s Creed logo tattooed on his arm.

Before the man hit the stage, a video played to hype up the match, showing snippets of Will’s wrestling journey from his time on the British independent circuit, his insane exploits in New Japan Pro Wrestling, to his impressive debut in AEW. Gameplay clips from Assassin’s Creed Shadows were interspersed throughout the package, but it was the narration from voice actor Roger Craig Smith, reprising his role as Ezio, that tied it all together.

When the entrance kicked off, we saw hooded acrobats flipping around the ramp before the soon-to-be International Champion appeared in an extravagant coat fit for an assassin. Pyro blasted in and out of the arena, and the fans went absolutely ballistic. All in all, it was a rare moment where a paid sponsorship elevated the experience rather than distracted from it.

Don’t take my word for it, though; give Will Ospreay’s All-In entrance a watch for yourself here:

While you can’t play as Ospreay, All Elite Wrestling’s debut video game, AEW: Fight Forever, is still a fun throwback to old-school arcade wrestling games. It’s got a few rough edges and could do with some more content (not paid content), but it’s especially fun when you’re mixing it up with some mates. We gave AEW: Fight Forever a 7.5.
