The jolly green giant we all know and adore is finally making his way back to console gaming, strapping in for the ride of his life in DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing.
That’s right, if I had a dollar for every time Shrek appeared in a racing game, I would have two dollars. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

Of course this isn’t a Shrek-centric karting experience – although the supporting cast of Donkey, Fiona, Puss in Boots and Death are confirmed to be appearing in the title – it’s a deluge of Dreamworks properties getting behind the steering wheel, including:
- Trolls
- Kung Fu Panda
- The Boss Baby
- Madagascar
- How to Train Your Dragon
- Puss in Boots
- The Bad Guys.
The game is coming together courtesy of Bamtang Games, whose recent racing entries include the Nickelodeon Kart Racers series of games.
And with such a massive assortment of film properties to choose from, you can also expect a huge amount of track options that span everything from The Kingdom of Far Far Away, right down to the New York Zoo from Madagascar.
It looks to be packed with everything you’d expect from a Dreamworks karting game, with the added bonus of being presented by the adorable little buggers from the Trolls films, so if you were on the fence before I can only assume you are preordering now.
The game is coming to all the modern platforms, but no date is set at this time.
