After many a cinematic effort, we may finally have a truly terrifying Resident Evil flick on our hands.
From Zach Cregger (The dude behind Weapons, Barbarian) we get another (another) reinvention of the Resident Evil franchise – and BOY HOWDY, does the trailer do a great job of setting the tone:
What a time. Not a cell phone in sight. Literally, because the dude needed to let himself into a strangers house to use the landline.
Chock full of disturbing stuff to see, I don’t even know where to begin. A pale fat dude in the sewer? Some kind of many-limbed beast in the farm house? It’s unlike any Resident Evil I have seen, but I want to see so much more of it.
The synopsis from YouTube gives us a glimpse of what to expect:
Resident Evil follows Bryan (Austin Abrams), a medical courier who unwittingly finds himself in an action-packed, non-stop race for survival as one fateful, horrifying night collapses around him in chaos.
So no big Resident Evil favourite characters just yet, but being a teaser trailer there is still time for a longer offering to maybe show us Chris Redfield punching a boulder. With a tease this good, I am thoroughly seated to see what that sicko Zach Cregger has in store for us.
