Microsoft Finally Announces The Xbox Series S; Will Support 1440p At Up To 120 FPS

After leaks spoiled Microsoft’s party earlier today and revealed both the price and release date of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, the company has finally confirmed the existence of the Xbox Series S. Not only that, but it was so confirmed that, as the leaks predicted, the console will retail at US$299 and launch in November.

The latter was included in a leaked Xbox Series S promo video that displayed a number of features and specs the unit would have, which include:

  • Almost 60% smaller than the Xbox Series X
  • Custom 512GB NVME SSD
  • Seamless game switching
  • Digital only
  • DirectX RayTracing
  • 1440p at up to 120 FPS
  • Variable rate shading
  • Variable refresh rate
  • Ultra-low latency
  • 4K streaming media playback
  • 4K upscaling for games
