The Sinking City 2 Is Unleashing Its Horrors In August But You Can Play A Demo Now

Frogwares will unleash its survival horror title The Sinking City 2 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on August 18, but players can check out a demo now on Steam.

Announced as part of the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, The Sinking City 2’s release date and demo news were revealed alongside a new trailer that shows off the horrors that await players in Arkham.

The demo will give players a look at the game’s first hour and its new combat-focused survival horror direction, which sees Frogwares’ signature investigation gameplay as optional rather than a requirement.

A sequel to the 2019 release, The Sinking City 2 is a standalone entry that follows occult adventurer Calvin Rafferty, whose girlfriend has failed to wake up after a ritual that didn’t go to plan. To save his girlfriend, Rafferty heads to Arkham, a submerged city infested with creatures known as the Slither after a supernatural flood wreaked havoc.

On the release date announcement, Sergiy Oganesyan, Head of Publishing at Frogwares, said that the team is incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved amid the ongoing challenges and uncertainty caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“We went through entire winters where heat and power were regularly cut off throughout the day because our infrastructure was being intentionally targeted. We had days where someone would be part of the team, and then the next day we’d hear they had been called up to serve and needed to start handing over their work to the rest of us.”
