Entertainment Weekly has dropped a huge piece covering the complex and altogether awesome villain of Venom, set to bare his considerably toothy maw when Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 releases in October.
The article is a delicious deep dive into the casting process and subsequent design challenges that arose with bringing the lethal protector to the Insomnniac Spidey-Verse, with a delicious heaping of praise on the main dude who will be lending his pipes to the project: Tony Todd. Tony is an absurdly talented guy, with a voice that somehow sounds like chocolate covered gravel – deep and raspy, but smooth as silk.
We also get a gorgeous piece of art to really show off how Venom will look in the game – looking not far off a screenshot:

It is a fantastic article if you are seeking a lightning recap of the events of both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales – with a generous helping of fun speculation regarding what is to come.
I am quite intrigued at how they mention that Peter Parker may be more responsible than he realises for the creation of Venom – a plot thread I can’t wait to see explored when the sequel is finally released October 20.
