Battlefield Studios has released a new trailer for Battlefield 6’s campaign, alongside further details regarding the game’s single-player.
During this morning’s PlayStation State of Play, a new trailer dropped for the highly anticipated first-person shooter. But this time, instead of focusing on the multiplayer element of the game, the trailer gave us a glimpse at the single-player campaign. The trailer itself is just shy of two minutes long, but it packs in a lot of action, espionage, and intrigue, with the promise of a global conflict made by way of showing clips from Egypt, Brooklyn, and more.

In addition to the trailer, Battlefield studios dropped a bunch of extra details about what players can expect from the campaign. The core conflict at the centre of Battlefield 6 is with Pax Armata, a private military corporation backed by several countries that have left NATO. Players will assume the role of various members of Dagger 13, a Marine Raiders unit tasked with toppling Pax Armata and preventing global destabilisation.
As detailed on the Battlefield 6 website, the Dagger 13 squad is comprised of:
- Haz Carter: a former high school quarterback who chose the rugged allure of the wilderness over being a sports star. During his time in the Marines, Haz was recognised for his blend of athletic prowess and survival skills, ultimately joining the Marine Raiders, rising to become an Assault expert and the leader of the squad.
- Dylan Murphy: a warfighter who chose the frontlines over an officer’s career, Murphy’s courage and strategic thinking make him a vital member of Dagger as the team’s Engineer.
- Simone “Gecko” Espina: Gecko learned to be a hunter on her grandfather’s farm and carried her expertise at tracking and taking on the elements into her military career. An adrenaline fanatic, Gecko became a Special Forces Operator. As the newest member of Dagger, she’s ready to prove herself as the squad’s Recon expert.
- Cliff Lopez: Rejecting his parents’ wishes for him to go to med school, Lopez sought glory and adventure on the field of battle. Lopez wears his heart on his sleeve and as the squad’s Support is an essential member of the team.
- Lucas Hemlock: A CIA Operator with a largely redacted past, all most people know about Hemlock is that he’s a true patriot to the end and is willing to do anything for his country.
You’ll likely notice that, save for Hemlock, each of the members of Dagger 13 falls into a classic Battlefield class: Assault, Engineer, Recon, and Support. As with any successful round of multiplayer, the single-player campaign will focus on team composition and working as an effective squad. Players will step into the boots of each team member, but will also be able to issue commands to the rest of the squad to coordinate and execute various actions.
We recently went hands-on with Battlefield 6’s largest maps and newest mode, and we came away desperate to play more. Additionally, we recently spoke with Battlefield Studios Designer Matthew Nickerson and Technical Director Christian Buhl about how the team has brought the full Battlefield experience to consoles, as well as how they have balanced the multiplayer space to ensure that all players can enjoy the game regardless of their platform.
Battlefield 6 releases on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 10.
