A New PSVR2 Ad Featuring Aunty Donna Promises Virtual Fun With The Boys

Take that, gong

PlayStation has published a new ad for the PSVR2 that features the Australian comedy trio Aunty Donna.

We recently published a glowing review for Sony’s recently released virtual reality headset, but why listen to us when the three Aunty Donna lads are spinning the marketing wheels? The two-minute advert sees Broden rock up to Mark’s apartment to try out the new VR unit. While Mark runs Broden through the headset’s features as he whales on a gong while playing Horizon Call of the Mountain, Zach enjoys the immersive features of a slapdash, imitation headset in the hopes that nobody misses out.

It all comes a bit unstuck with the grand reveal that Zach is wearing literal trash on his head – but why read about it when you can see it all for yourself:

It’s clear that Mark is a silly duffer when it comes to inviting two friends over at the same time to experience “the new real” – but you must applaud the quick thinking in making a rather ingenious simulacrum. The weaponised enthusiasm of the Aunty Donna boys is infectious, and in this case they hardly need to act – the PSVR2 is one hot unit.
