More information on the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield versions will be revealed next week, a statement from Nintendo has announced.
The livestream will begin on the 5th of June at 11pm AEST, and run for about 15 minutes. Details are scarce apart from that, but there are already some indicators of what we could see. Mere days before Sword and Shield’s announcement, a 4chan leak (correctly) leaked the name and region inspiration. This leak also included ‘armored Pokémon’, a leak handily given credibility by Nintendo’s recent trademark of ‘Armoured Mewtwo’. We can also take this as confirmation that the games will not be involved in Nintendo’s E3 presence.
The Sword and Shield stream will be preceded by the Pokémon Company’s ‘2019 Press Conference‘ at 11am on the 29th of May AEST – a couple of day’s time. The conference is ‘expected to cover a number of topics of interest to Pokémon fans,’ which may or may not include new games. If this still isn’t the Gen 4 remakes, I’ll flip more than just my lid. Many lids will be flipped. Many.
