People attending the Rocket League Championship Series 2026 – Paris Major were treated to a rapid teaser of what the game has in store for the future, with the biggest shock coming from the very end of the clip – when the customary Unreal Engine logo displayed a big ‘ol number 6 next to it.
Gadzooks.
What. A. Moment.

People in the know about the latest update to the Unreal Engine have been predicting a proper rollout in either 2027 or 2028, so this little bit of visual sizzle is the first real evidence of the thing actually existing.
As for the initial reception? Well, I guess the cars are very pretty – but there isn’t a great deal else to say. Whatever new technologies are promised with this update are still unknown, and we don’t have a spotlight on anything as neat as hyper-detailed rocks just yet.
Many hope for a big payoff on existing tech debt within the platform, while many others lament an almost certain integration with some kind of generative AI engine. Basically a coin flip that either delights or disgusts. Time will tell.
What did you think of the Rocket League teaser? Did you feel the excitement of super-detailed cars? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
