Another day, another leak via SteamDB. This time it’s for Tekken 8, the latest upcoming entry into Bandai Namco’s 29-year-old fighting game. A Tekken 8 Playtest listing on SteamdDB was spotted and has been pretty frequent activity updates. What is most peculiar is that even though it is labelled as “Playtest”, which would suggest it is being used by a very small, select amount of people, the product image that is in use has a “CNT” label on it, denoting its intended use a Closed Network Test.
For those unfamiliar, Closed Network Tests are effectively like Bandai’s name for a beta. The most notable game to have one prior to this was Elden Ring, which had a Closed Network Test about three months before its full release. While this is all conjecture, it would make sense for a Closed Network Test for Tekken 8 to be occurring in the near future, especially with E3 Week happening soon (RIP to the actual E3).
Bandai Namco has also been giving us a healthy amount of character demos and previews each week, with Bryan Fury being the latest character to receive the preview treatment.
A wildcard for violence and destruction.
