The Industrial Revolution was a time of great social turmoil, and not just for Britain who got there first because they’re the best. Industry changed the world in ways we still haven’t quite fathomed, and we’re supposed to be post-industrial! But what if you wanted to roleplay that change? What if you had a thirst for seeing the world turn to smokey crap before your very eyes? Like every other major historical shift, the Anno series has you covered.
A major announcement at Ubisoft’s E3 2018 conference, Anno 1800 returns the series to its historical roots. Inviting players to the (fortunately) steampunk-less 19th century, Anno 1800 promises the ultimate in unethical worker exploitation simulation. Back then, it was announced with no release date.
But now, we have the power of Gamescom announcement technology! Today at the aforementioned Gamescom, Ubisoft has unveiled a new trailer for Anno 1800 as well as a release date: Feburary 26, 2019 – the same day that Napoleon escaped from exile in Elba 203 years ago! Look, I know it’s not relevant. I just needed to spice this thing up.
