Apex Legends Season 18 – Resurrection Reintroduces Revenant With A Complete Rework

Back from the dead

Respawn Entertainment has announced Season 18 of Apex Legends titled Resurrection, which will go live across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch and PC on August 8.

While the update won’t be introducing a new Legend, Resurrection is instead focused on giving an existing one some tender loving care. The major focus for Season 18 is a complete teardown and rework of everyone’s favourite mechanical menace, Revenant. Alongside a sleek new design, Rev will be reintroduced with a brand new skillset that will fundamentally change how the Legend is played. So, out with the old and in with the new, this is what you can look forward to in Revenant’s new kit:

Passive – Assassin’s Instinct

Revenant’s crouch and wall climb speed is still faster than all other Legends, however, this new passive also gives him more vertical movement options while climbing. Additionally, nearby enemies that are low on health will be highlighted for the player and will be highlighted for the entire team if Revenant is the one to bring them to low health.

Tactical – Shadow Pounce

Shadow Pounce sees Revenant launched through the air in order to get in/out of a fight or reposition on the battlefield. This can be charged to cover more distance.

Ultimate – Forged Shadows

Activating this ultimate will see a cloud of shadows appear around Revenant, blocking incoming damage and recharging over time, acting as an additional layer of protection. Knocking enemies will immediately recharge the shadows, allowing him to push on enemies relentlessly.

Those wanting to check out Revenant’s new kit will be able to do so for free, as the Legend will be unlocked for all players for the duration of Season 18. Furthermore, during the season, there will be challenges for players to complete that, once bested, will unlock Revenant permanently.

While Rev’s makeover is the main attraction, there are a few other changes and additions coming with Resurrection. Mixtape, the rotating playlist of game modes, is making its way to the Broken Moon location. Both Gun Run and Team Deathmatch will be playable on The Core map, while Control will be played in the Production Yard during the upcoming season.
