Apocalyptic Survival Game Into The Dead: Our Darkest Days Is Coming To PC Early Access Next Month

Our Darkest Days are soon upon us

Developer PikPok has announced that its side-scrolling survival title, Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days, will be releasing in early access on Steam on April 9.

The latest instalment into the long-running Into the Dead series by Aotearoa New Zealand team PikPok, Our Darkest Days is the developer’s most ambitious entry yet. Moving from mobile into a full PC title, Our Darkest Days is a side-scrolling survival game set in a 1980s Texas following a zombie apocalypse. A permadeath mechanic will see you get attached to and undoubtedly lose survivors as you build up a base and go out on scavenging missions, trying your best not to meet a grizzly end.

We went hands-on with it during PAX Aus 2023 and, even in the game’s earlier stage of development, we came away with positive thoughts. In our preview, we said, “The core gameplay felt tight, the combat, while reserved as a final option, was weighty, and the 1980s Texas setting shone through.”

If you’re keen to get a taste of the Texan zombie action before the early access period, you can download a free demo on Steam right now.
