Aussie-Made 80s-Inspired Action Platformer DROS Gets A July Release Date

Get ready to climb the tower

Brisbane-based studio emergeWorlds has announced a release date for its story-driven 80s-inspired action platformer DROS, which will launch on PC on July 20.

DROS has been in development for almost four years, with the team taking inspiration from titles such as Captain Toad, Monkey Island 2, and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening to craft its own action platformer game.

Set in the once peaceful village of Nilemah, which has now been placed under quarantine by the council of High Alchemists, you’ll play as both Little Dros, a slimy little monster, and Captain, hunter shell, who have joined forces (literally) to reach the top the Tower that is poisoning the lands. The pair must work together to overcome enemies and solve puzzles, with each character having their own strengths and weaknesses.

The team at emergeWorlds ran a successful Kickstarter, raising A$21,341 to help fund the game’s development.

What do you make of DROS? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
