Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora Has Been Delayed Into 2023

Pandora is still a while away

Ubisoft has announced that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has been delayed into 2023.

Announced as part of Ubisoft’s Q1 earnings report, the first-person action-adventure game will now be releasing during the 2023-24 fiscal year. This means that the earliest we could see the game set in James Cameron’s sci-fi world would be April 2023. We don’t get a particularly solid reason for this delay, but the project does sound like it’s going to be ambitious, with the report stating that “[Ubisoft] are committed to delivering a cutting-edge immersive experience that takes full advantage of next-gen technology.”

Despite being talked about since 2017, we got our first look at Frontiers of Pandora during an Ubisoft Forward event last June. Developed by Massive Entertainment, the team behind The Division series, the video game adaptation is likely to aim for a release date close to Avatar: The Way of Water, which is scheduled to hit theatres in December of this year.

The earnings report also states that ” a smaller unannounced premium game” has also been pushed from 2022-23 into 2023-24. It’s not all doom and gloom for Ubisoft though, as Skull and Bones and Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope are still slated for 2022, with the former releasing on November 8 and the latter on October 20.
