Battlefield 2042 Open Beta Dates Have Been Announced

Get ready for war

EA and DICE have announced that the Battlefield 2042 open beta will take place between October 8-9, with those that pre-order the game getting early access between October 6-7.

The open beta will be available to all players across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC, with pre-loading starting on October 5 at 5pm AEST. The beta will take place on the huge Orbital map that features a massive rocket that’s moments from launching in Kourou, French Guiana. Conquest will be the mode on offer, now focusing on controlling sectors that are made up of multiple flags in order to bleed the other team of tickets.

Four specialists will be available during the beta, including Webster McKay, Maria Falck, Pyotr “Boris” Guskovsky and Wikus “Casper” Van Daele. McKay is a fairly standard soldier that uses a grappling hook, Falck is a healer that utilises a syringe pistol, Guskovsky has access to an automatic sentry gun and Daele has a recon drone that highlights enemies while displacing them with an EMP blast.

Don’t get too attached to the progress that you make during the beta, as none of what you accomplish will carry over to the full game. If you’re looking to play the beta on PC and need to know the requirements, you can find them HERE.

Battlefield 2042 releases on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC on November 19.
