Blumhouse Productions, the film production company behind popular horror titles such as Insidious and The Black Phone, has announced Blumhouse Games, a new company that will focus on game development and publishing.
The company has revealed that it will primarily partner with indie developers to create horror-themed experiences for PC, console and mobile devices with a budget of under US$10 million to “enable innovation and pushing creative boundaries.”
Zach Wood, previously of Iron Galaxy, Arkane Studios and Sony Santa Monica, will serve as President, saying that “There’s a unique opportunity for horror and genre in the indie game space, and I’m thrilled about teaming up with Blumhouse to meaningfully leverage the company’s brand, reputation, and creative talent.”
It’s definitely exciting news for fans of the horror genre and we look forward to seeing what the company cooks up for us in the coming years.

Despite a childhood playing survival horrors, point and clicks and beat ’em ups, these days Zach tries to convince people that Homefront: The Revolution is a good game while pining for a sequel to The Order: 1886 and a live-action Treasure Planet film.
