Broken Hopes And Dreams – Xürday Times #6 (Year 2, Week 4)

Hot off the presses, we return from our temporary hiatus.

We are back from our temporary hiatus with issue #6 of the Xürday Times. Admittedly, it is a rather disappointing week to return with, but not every week can be like the famous week Xür sold the Gjallarhorn for the second time or when he sold the Bones of Eao. Let’s plunge into where Xür is and what he brought us.

Why yes, I do look like Frieza.

Why yes, I do look like Frieza.

Xür is right by the Vanguard representatives, next to the abandoned quests kiosk. Now let’s take a look at what he’s brought us. First up, for 23 strange coins, we have the Plasma Drive and “Emerald Coil” for those rare, blue-quality sparrows. Next up we have 3 packs of heavy ammo synthesis and 5 sets of Three of Coins for 1 and 7 strange coins, respectively. Lastly we have a heavy weapon Legacy engrams (for those still in need of year 1 exotic heavies) and Gauntlet Exotic Engrams which are being sold for 31 strange coins (Legacy engram) and 19 strange coins (Gauntlet Engrams). If you are level 300 or above and are looking for something to infuse into your legendary or exotic gauntlets, buy these as they may drop at 310 defence for you.

For Titans he has brought you An Insurmountable Skullfort for 13 strange coins. This helmet offers the Improved Transfusion exotic perk which allows kills with the Storm Fist (or shoulder charge for that matter) immediately trigger health regeneration and you will always respawn with melee energy. In year 2 they also grant a secondary melee charge. If you don’t have an exotic or need a helmet, definitely buy this. If you already own something like the Immolation Fists or the Helm of Saint .14 then this is a pass.

For Hunters he has brought you the Knucklehead Radar for 13 strange coins. This helmet offers the Sensor Pack exotic perk, allowing for the radar to stay active while aiming Primary Weapons. This is an ok exotic, definitely not a must buy but it also has its uses.

I have the Metal Gear Solid night-vision goggles

Lastly, for Warlocks he has brought you the Claws of Ahamkara for 13 strange coins. These exotic gauntlets offer The Whispers exotic perk which allow the Warlock to gain an additional melee charge. This synergises perfectly with the Stormcaller subclass’ Transcendence and Perpetual Charge perks. However, it should be noted that for Transcendence to work with these gauntlets BOTH melee charges have to be fully charged. This is a great year 2 exotic for you to buy, I definitely recommend getting your own set.

That is all for this week. Did you enjoy being disappointed by Xür this week or were you hoping for him to be useful once more? For anything Destiny tune into DYEGB and for anything Xür return next week for the next issue of the Xürday Times. For the meantime…

Guardians out!
