Developer Bungie is finally set to reveal gameplay for its upcoming extraction shooter Marathon on April 13 at 3am AEST.
Announced just shy of two years ago at the PlayStation Showcase in 2023, Marathon is the first new game from Halo and Destiny studio Bungie in eight years and the first non-Destiny title to come from the team in a whopping 15 years. Revisiting the developer’s early 90s first-person shooter property, this revitalised Marathon is a PvP extraction shooter that will see players inhabit synthetic bodies to collect valuables and kill opponents.
Until this most recent teaser trailer that acts as a save-the-date for the true gameplay reveal, we’ve only seen a single cinematic trailer, though it was a good one. After two years of speculation and cautious optimism, we’ll soon have a better idea of exactly what Marathon is.
