Creature Commandos Gets A Release Window And A Trailer That Shows That The Team Is The Good Kind Of Weird

Task Force M

DC Studios and HBO have released the first trailer for the upcoming animated series Creature Commandos and confirmed that the show will air in December.

Announced in February of last year during the introduction of James Gunn’s DCU, Creature Commandos will follow the exploits of Task Force M, a group of non-human inmates of Belle Reve prison sent to missions deemed too dangerous for regular agents. With Amanda Waller as their handler, the group is a substitute for the Suicide Squad after the government decided that enslaving inmates and obliterating their heads was a bit far.

Led by Rick Flag, the team consists of Frankenstein, The Bride, Doctor Phosphorus, G.I Robot, Nina Mazursky, and Weasel, which makes for a mixed bag of crazy. The trailer, debuting at San Diego Comic-Con, gives us the tiniest slice of what to expect, but the energy is very James Gunn. It looks like we can expect a quirky bunch of loveable yet broken characters, so count me in.
