After leaks of a Cyberpunk 2077-themed Xbox One controller earlier this week, we know have confirmation of not just the controller, but an entire limited edition Xbox One X.
The collaboration between CD Projekt Red (the devs behind Cyberpunk) and Microsoft is culminating in a 1TB Xbox One X that includes laser etchings, LED lights, custom panels and of course a custom controller with the colour scheme of Johnny Silverhand (Keanu Reeves’ character)…oh and the underside of the console has a glow-in-the-dark graffiti-like message that reads ‘No Future’.
Interestingly, the console is slated to release in June 2020, a full three months before Cyberpunk’s launch on September 17. This wouldn’t be too odd, but the marketing does imply that the console comes with a digital copy of the game. The codes may not be active until launch, or might activate a digital preorder, we will just have to wait and find out.
There are no details on price as of yet, but previous limited edition Xbox One Xs that include the respective games usually retail for AU$649, so it’s likely to fall somewhere in that region.
The console is definitely on-brand and it fits the aesthetic of Cyberpunk, but I can’t help but think it’s a little bit much. But that’s just me, take a look at the unit for yourself:
