It has been announced today that the annual indie showcase Day of the Devs has become an independent non-profit.
Forgoing investors in order to stay truly neutral to any one platform or company, the non-profit will raise funds through a FundraiseUp campaign in collaboration with the administrative service Legacy Global. This line of funding promises to provide transparency for both public backers and sponsors, while staying “100% platform agnostic.”
Those who want to donate to the cause can set their own amount, or choose from two reward tiers offering goodies in return for a greenback or two. The two reward tiers are:

Alongside the announcement that the indie showcase is going indie, the Day of the Devs 2024 calendar has been outlined. Multiple events are on the agenda for this year, kicking off with Day of the Devs: San Fransisco on March 17, an in-person event that will showcase all manner of indie titles. That’s not it for the month, though, as Day of the Devs Showcase: SFMOMA Edition will be taking place on March 18 and Day of the Devs: GDC Edition will be occurring during the conference.
For those of us who can’t make it to the US during March, Day of the Devs: Summer Game Fest Edition and Day of the Devs: The Game Awards Edition are locked in, with more info to come soon.
