In the early hours of the morning, developer Behaviour Interactive revealed the newest killer to be added to the Dead By Daylight roster, The Animatronic.
Unveiled at PAX East during their 9th-anniversary stream, the character is based on the iconic serial killer from Five Nights At Freddy’s. Unfortunately, we do not have a specific release date other than Summer 2025, but we have a lot to look forward to.
Fans of both Five Nights At Freddy’s and Dead By Daylight have wanted Springtrap to join the ever-growing Dead By Daylight line-up for years, and we won’t need to watch a fan-made inspired killer anymore as he’s finally coming to terrorise us all. Not only will there be a legendary outfit of Springtrap based on the 2023 movie, but Matthew Lillard himself will be voicing The Animatronic.

That’s not all. A Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria map inspired by the first Five Nights At Freddy’s game is also on the way. It will feature a heap of easter eggs and jump scares for players to find. Fortunately, with this new addition, a quality-of-life upgrade where you can enter a separate queue exclusively for the new map will be possible. This will also be used for new maps going forward as well.
During the 9th anniversary stream, they unfortunately did not get into the power or the perks Springtrap will have. However, they did mention that they would be extremely authentic to the Five Nights At Freddy’s universe. But we won’t need to wait long for more information on the iconic character, as an upcoming stream will show much more, which Dead By Daylight will be teasing in their newsletter as we get closer to the unknown date.
There are currently no survivor skins inspired by the much-beloved franchise, but who knows what the future might hold. Vanessa and Mike would be great survivor editions if made possible.
