Behaviour Interactive has announced that Alan Wake will be added to Dead By Daylight as a playable survivor on January 30.
Crossing over from The Dark Place, Wake will be stepping into the asymmetric horror multiplayer title looking and sounding exactly as he does in Alan Wake II. With the likeness of Ilkka Villi and the voice of Matthew Porretta, this rendition of the cursed writer will be authentic to Remedy’s own, although he’ll be starting generators and running from masked monsters instead of penning a novel.
As detailed on the Dead by Daylight website, Wake will come with three character perks to aid in his survival. Champion of Light will grant additional movement speed while using a flashlight, Illumination will create an aura around generators and chest for fellow survivors to see, and Dealine will increase the frequency of skill checks while you’re injured.

We’ve grown used to seeing horror icons make their way to Dead By Daylight as playable Killers, but Alan is joining Nic Cage as a noteworthy Survivor, so the books are starting to balance.
It’s awesome to see Alan Wake getting his time in the spotlight, especially considering he spends so much time in the dark. We couldn’t get enough of his recent endeavours within Alan Wake II, saying in our review that “After a 13-year wait, Alan Wake has reemerged as one of the most unique survival horror experiences you can find in the dark.” We gave the game a 9.5.
