Developer Surgent Studios has revealed its next game titled Dead Take.
Published by Pocketpair Publishing, Dead Take will be the second release for Surgent Studios, though this sounds far and away from the team’s first. Although we know very little at this stage, we do understand that Dead Take is a horror title focused on the power and corruption that run rampant throughout the entertainment industry.
The press release for Dead Take explains that “In Dead Take, players will peel back the entertainment industry’s glittering facade to expose its darkest secrets. This gripping narrative experience will feature an impressive lineup of actors that will be revealed in the coming weeks.”
Surgent Studios CEO and acclaimed actor Abubakar Salim has shared some intriguing early thoughts on the game, saying, “The subject matter of this game is delicate, and it hits close to home. When it comes out, and it won’t be long until it does, I want players to think, ‘I can’t believe they actually did this.“

A far cry from a horror game about the dark side of entertainment, Surgent Studios’ debut title was Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, an action platformer with a deeply personal story of loss and grief. We’ve been patiently waiting to see what Surgent Studios does next, having enjoyed their first foray into the medium.
We gave Tales of Kenzera an 8 in our review, saying, “Tales of Kenzera: ZAU infuses the action platformer with earnest, emotional storytelling and a vibrant, compelling world to explore.”
