The original reveal of ‘Live Action’ Sonic the Hedgehog had an …explosive response.
The film’s director Jeff Fowler took to Twitter and said the following;
“Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast“
What came next was the confirmation of a character redesign, and a push back to the release date. Today, people are murmuring about what could potentially be a leak of the redesign – seeing the blue blur look a little more ….Cartoonesque? Take a squiz:

People are diabolical with their photoshops nowadays, and for each aspect of the above image that makes me feel it’s fake (the ears don’t match!) – there is at least one or two aspects of it that might suggest accuracy. For example, the users twitter account seems to be followed by the official Sega twitter – or something, who knows how twitter works.
Apparently it’s leaked by ‘a friend who works at Paramount’ – obviously the uncle who works at Nintendo was not available.
By all means, chow down on the biggest grain of salt you can find – we may well need to wait until 2020 to see the official unveiling.
