DOOM: The Dark Ages Revelations DLC Releases This July

Hell freezes over

id Software finally gave sawshield fanatics a look at DOOM: The Dark Ages upcoming Revelations DLC during the Xbox Games Showcase at Summer Game Fest 2026.

With new weapons, new enemies and a saucy new look for the Doomslayer, players look to be in for a real treat when the DLC drops on July 7.

Right off the bat, players look to be getting an all-new Chain Spear weapon, that may well also serve as a grappling hook – perhaps bringing back some of the gravity-defying gameplay of Doom Eternal. The trailer also shows off some distinctly old-school Doom action, with familiar cramped spaces and a trusty shotgun.

From the video description:

HELL FREEZES OVER in DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations, an all-new campaign expansion that unleashes a brutal new chapter of the Slayer’s saga.
‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ㅤ
Wounded and betrayed, the Slayer is thrust into a merciless purgatory only escapable by confronting haunting truths and forging new strength with the help of a mysterious ally. He must ascend from the prison of his mind and fight an abomination of the gods to set his followers on the path to freedom.

People who already purchased the Digital Upgrade, Premium Edition, or Collector’s Bundle will get access to Revelations at no additional cost. For Slayers that wish to wait it out, it will be available separately for when you might consider a little spear action.

The DLC is apparently immense, given that the developers have long been mentioning that its scope kept growing – Game Director Hugo Martin is even on record in stating that it is “huge and practically resembles a sequel rather than an expansion.”

Just one short month of waiting and we can see if the sizzle is up to par, spear in hand.

What do you think of the Revelations reveal? Enjoying that shirtless ‘Slayer? It’s okay, we are too. Let us know all about it in the comments or on our social media.
