It’s chilly here in Australia, but things were toasty in Los Angeles, with Geoff Kieghley’s Summer Game Fest kicking off the silly season of game reveals, new announcements and, dare I say it, world premieres. It’s the weekend here, but we’re nothing if dedicated, so, with a cup of coffee in hand, we woke up at a perfectly reasonable hour to watch the all-important showcase. Now, with the show done and dusted, we bring you, lovely reader, all of the biggest, best, and everything else from this year’s SGF.
Here are all of the announcements made during Summer Game Fest 2026:
Resident Evil Veronica
After years of rumours, the Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake has been officially announced. Starring the Redfield siblings, Claire and Chris, Code Veronica (or Veronica as it is now called) is set after the events of Resident Evil 2, on a remote island prison and in Antarctica, and sees the pair investigating the nefarious Umbrella Corporation. Slated for release across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC in 2027.
Mighty Cuphead Adventure…and more
A new hand-animated Cuphead game is coming from Studio MDHR. We didn’t get anything more than that in terms of info, with the puppet broadcaster staying very tight-lipped, but there was more to come. In addition to a new mainline entry, the studio has been working on another title, Mighty Cuphead Adventure. This time around, it’s an 8-bit action platformer for up to two players with a more (or is it less?) retro aesthetic. The coolest part about this new title is that it’s coming to the Sega Master System. Sure, you’ll be able to play it on modern consoles too, but why would you want to if you can get an old-school cartridge?
Alien Isolation 2
Great, I get to lose sleep again. Creative Assembly is back with another pants-shitting horror game set in the Alien universe. Alien Isolation 2 had already been announced, but there’s something about seeing that it’s actually real that scares and excites me in equal measure. The devs came out to promise a new setting and plenty of aggressively terrifying moments. Coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC.
GEN ATLUS
Legendary creative Fumito Ueda was on hand with his newest title, formerly known as Project Robot. Titled GEN ATLUS, we still don’t know a whole lot about what the game actually is, but the vibes are there. We’ve got a seemingly ruined world, we’ve got a cool-looking main character, and we’ve got big robots slapping each other around. Let’s go.
Blood Message
I was convinced this was going to be a Musou game, but it doesn’t look like that’s what we’re getting. To be honest, we didn’t get anything concrete here (like a release date), but we saw a lot of brutal sword-fighting during a siege and plenty of melodrama. Blood Message is a single-player, narrative-driven action title set during the Chinese Tang Dynasty sounds like a banger, and this trailer did a solid job of further selling its premise. Hopefully, we will get more details soon.
Stranger than Heaven
Stranger than Heaven is living up to its name, with the new trailer revealing that Snoop Dogg and Tupac are in the game, because why not? Better still, we now know that we can rub shoulders with deceased rappers across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC on January 15, 2027.
Haex
New studio Dead Astronauts showcased its debut title, Haex. There was a lot to digest in this reveal trailer, but the main takeaways are first-person shooting, wacky lifeforms, and some potential for three-player shenanigans. I’ll have my eyes on this one.
The Last Ronin
We got a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it trailer for The Last Ronin, the previously announced TMNT game. Real talk, we didn’t get much here, and we already knew the game was in development. However, the big news here is that PlatinumGames is now heading up development, which could certainly be a win.
Gundam Rogue Orbit
That’s a Gundam game right there, innit. Big mechs, bit monsters, lots of anime drama. I’m not an authority on mech franchises, but Gundam Rogue Orbit looks like a pretty solid title on face value, so I hope the fans of the series are eating well here.
An Eggstremely Hard Game
Two ducks geese, one nest with an egg in it, lots of pitfalls. A two-player, physics-based puzzle game that is sure to infuriate both you and your co-op partner. Various levels with heaps of egg-cracking obstacles stand between you and victory, and that’s sure to be a recipe for disaster. This one looks like a good bit of physics-based fun, and it’s coming to PC on July 25.
Crossfire
From That’s No Moon, a new studio formed by industry veterans, Crossfire is a story-based third-person shooter with a few sci-fi elements mixed in for good measure. A big deal was made of the game’s cover system, which sees the player character adapt to whatever is near. It’s cool to see in motion, and it’ll be interesting to play around with when we get our hands on this game. For a bit of personal opinion thrown into the mix, this was my game of the show, purely because it’s the title that intrigues me the most, with that fancy new cover tech making me want to go hands-on.
Control Resonant
The next game from Remedy got another quick trailer here, showing off more of its world’s insane enemies and situations. Control Resonant continues to look awesome, so give it to me now, please. Thankfully, the wait is nearly over, as this one is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 24.
Guild Wars 3
Well well well MMO fans, this will be a big deal for you folks. You don’t see new MMORPGs drop very often, but here we are. Guild Wars 3 is coming to both PC and PS5, with the beta kicking off in 2027.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer
We’ve seen a decent amount from Galactic Racer already, but here we got some tasty snippets of gameplay combined with a few hints at the game’s story. It looks difficult, it looks fun, and hopefully, we get to finally shut Sebulba up for good. The podrace begins across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 6.
End of Abyss
I feel like we’ve had radio silence from this cool-looking, spooky isometric title, but we now know that End of Abyss is launching on October 1. For real, this looks like a more disturbing, more action-oriented Little Nightmares or Reanimal, so if those titles are your jam, pay attention to this one.
Last Harbour
Last Harbour is a first-person, open-world, multiplayer, survival crafting game set in a post-apocalyptic Pacific Northwest that has you and your crew fighting off zombies on land and living on the water. Coming to PC in 2027.
Virtua Fighter Crossroads
The revival of Virtua Fighter sees the series blend traditional fighting with RRG Studios’ brawling gameplay approach. Crossroads sees a… street fighter who gets caught up with the Chinese mafia and is forced to get physical to protect his family. The combat we saw looked awesome, and the strong story focus could be cool if done right. If this one got your attention, there’s a half-hour presentation you can go ahead and watch HERE. Coming in 2027.
Runescape: Dragonwilds
Runescape. That’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time. The survival spinoff of the wildly 2000s MMO, titled Dragonwilds, is leaving early access and is launching on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 15.
1666: Amsterdam
The next game from Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Désilets, 1666: Amsterdam, is a third-person, story-driven action-adventure that follows Noa, a Collector who uses the power of witchcraft to reveal demonic entities possessing human bodies. The game’s prologue is available now, with an Early Access launch planned for later in the year.
SAW: Genesis
I can’t say I was wishing for a game based on the Saw series, but hey. The trailer didn’t give heaps away, but we know that Saw: Genesis is being developed by Bloober Team and will be a 3v1 horror game, pitting poor players against a game master looking to test their mettle and will to survive.
Star Wars: Zero Company
The strategy game set in a galaxy far, far away is finally on the horizon. Along with a tasty look at gameplay that feels very X-COM, we got a release date for Star Wars: Zero Company. Players will be able to get tactical on August 27.
The Blood of Dawnwalker
Ok, I was already sold on this vampire-soaked RPG, but this trailer showed that the game has a few more tricks up its sleeve. In addition to a brief rundown of the trailer from the devs, it looks like The Blood of Dawnwalker might be the first step in a series, with modern-day elements at play. Very interesting. This one is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 3.
Among Us Story: On Guard
Well, it looks like we can start using the term “Among Us Universe.” Among Us Story: On Guard is a new single-player title from developer Innersloth that pits you as a lowly ship guard who must search for clues and rat out the imposter to clear your name and protect the crew. This one is coming to PC at some stage.
Among Us Animated Show
A double dose of duplicity. The next segment centred around the animated Among Us series, which boasts a ridiculous cast including Elijah Wood, Ashley Johnson, and Randall Park, to name but a few. It looks silly, it looks fun. This one is up for your viewing pleasure on Paramount+ right this very minute.
007 First Light
007 First Light game has been out for less than a hiccup, and we’re already getting a tease for new story content. This trailer was short and sharp, promising the return of the villain Bawma, played by Lenyy Kravitz.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance
You’ve hunted monsters on land, in the ocean, now get swingin’ at beasties in the sky. This new expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds, titled Asecndance, takes players to a series of sky islands to grind out new armour sets and weapons. This one is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2027.
Swords of Legend
A single-player action title with flashy combat and flashier boss design. While this isn’t a new announcement, this proper look at a boss fight showed off a cool summon system and plenty of sword swinging action. No date just yet, so we’ll have to wait and see.
Hot Wheels Infinite Rush
We’ve had two excellent Hot Wheels games from Milestone at this point, so it’s time for a third to come along and shake things up. Hot Wheels Infinite Rush takes the plastic racing series into the open world, with this debut trailer showing off various environments, from cities to beaches, and plenty of orange plastic tracks for good measure. As I said, the two Unleshed games are amazing, so I’m keen to get stuck into this next entry as well.
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds….and more
For those who prefer to race with the Blue Blur over the Italian plumber, have I got news for you. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is getting new DLC, with TMNT, Avatar Legends, Godzilla, and Evangelion all entering the mix in the coming months. Moreover, it looks like Sonic and friends are invading the world of Pico Park, because why not lose friendship over Sonic? Happy 35th birthday, Sonic. How are your mortgage repayments going?
Attack on Titan 3
Developer Omega Force is taking on the lofty goal of adapting the entire Attack on Titan narrative in one gaming package. If you’re into zipping around the battlefield, cutting down colossal bastards who want to eat you, you’ll be able to do so on July 1 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC.
Clutch
A racing game with a proper narrative focus, who would’ve thunk it. I’m not even a big motorsports fan, and this trailer got my attention in a big way. Clutch is an open-world, story-based racing game from former Forza Horizon devs, and it’s made a good first impression with a cinematic trailer. Now, let’s see some gameplay, please.
The Wolf Among Us 2
Good lord, it does exist. After a long wait and a rocky road, it looks like the big bad wolf is finally coming back with a new choice-based adventure. The Telltale series continues in 2027. An extra little surprise ended this segment, announcing that The Wolf Among Us Remastered is on the way this year.
Stellar Blade: Blood Rain
We started with anime ladies hanging out in alleys, chatting on coms, before quickly moving to fast-paced action gameplay, where that same anime lady was kicking the shit out of body-horror monstrosities. This could only be Stellar Blade. A new entry with a new protagonist, this spinoff looks just as flashy and wild as the first game, now complete with a properly inappropriate character model. For real, this one feels…ergh.
Street Fighter 6
The fourth year of content for Street Fighter 6 will see Yasmine, Arjun, and Bosch added to the game alongside Tifa from Final Fantasy.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is the final (get it?) stop in the remake trilogy. Instead of prioritising PlayStation, the third game will launch across all platforms at once. We also got the announcement that the one and only Matt Mercer will be voicing everyone’s favourite fangy friend, Vincent Valentine.
And there you go, a two-hour presentation distilled down in a far more manageable format. The show itself moved along at a decent pace, and we weren’t subjected to too many ads (we’ll save those for The Game Awards, I suppose), so I’d consider that a pretty good show.
