Electrifying Mech-Shooter Hawken Is Coming Back To Steam As A F2P PvE Title

Magnificent mech mashing is back

HAWKEN was an absolutely stellar mech-game when it released all the way back in 2012 – a labour of love that captured a visceral, mechanical mayhem that has been hard to experience since.

It’s downfall was some curious progression mechanics – and a dreaded shop system that erred dangerously close to being outright P2W.

But, the good new is that HAWKEN is returning as HAWKEN REBORN, dropping it’s PvP gameplay for something a little more straightforward and Free-To-Play:

Popping up on Steam with little aplomb, the game is going to go live later today for those that wish to engage in the timeless experience of scrapping metal. The title makes the following promise on it’s Steam description:

Experience a brand new Player vs Environment (PVE) experience in the Hawken Universe as you fight through the dystopic lands of Illal against warring factions, greedy corporations, and even more deadly adversaries.

I am wholly on board for a ‘Hawken Universe’ – the initial game had a style and substance that was tragic to lose, so if it is to be salvaged I am entirely on-board to see where this storm of metal and sparks takes me. Given it’s Early Access nature, it should be exciting to see where the future of HAWKEN lies.
