Everything Announced At The Meta Quest Showcase 2023

With all games releasing within the next year

Following on from the announcement of the Meta Quest 3, the third annual Meta Quest Showcase went live this morning, highlighting a bunch of new VR games that are hitting the system within the next 12 months. The one-hour showcase was packed to the brim with exciting new games, some of which we’ve seen before and others that were shown off for the first time.

Here is everything announced during the Meta Quest Showcase 2023:

Samba de Amigo

The addictive rhythm game is back. Simply titled Samba de Amigo, players will be able to shake their maracas to over 40 songs and compete against others online to prove they have the best moves. Online leaderboards and post-launch DLC will keep you gyrating and shaking for quite some time. Releasing on Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro in 2023.

I Expect You To Die 3: Cog in the Machine

The third instalment in the spy thriller series, Cog in the Machine has you playing as a great special agent tasked with taking down a rogue inventor (and former agent) as they throw all manner of dangers your way. Completing puzzles, using your covert skills, and probably dying a whole bunch will undoubtedly be a great deal of fun, just like the last two games. I Expect You To Die 3 will release on Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro in 2023.

Silent Slayer: Bolt of the Vampire

Coming from Schell Games, the devs behind I Expect You To Die, Silent Slayer: Bolt of the Vampire is a first-person horror title that will have you coming face-to-fang with blood-sucking monsters. We only get a very brief little glimpse at this one, but staking a vampire in the heart in VR sounds like a blast. Silent Slayer doesn’t have a release date yet, but will be coming to Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro.

Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord

While we’ve known about Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord for some time, this new trailer took a dive into the game’s story. Giving some background on the titular spectral monarch, the trailer tells the tale of Gustav Hookfaber, an inventor who was shunned by the Ghostbusters and has now unwittingly unleashed spectres on the world. There’s no release date for Rise of the Ghost Lord, but it will be coming to Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro.

UNDERDOGS

Some things just sound inherently fun to experience in VR. Piloting a giant mech and beating the crap out of other mechanical monsters is certainly one of them. UNDERDOGS is a roguelike brawler that lets you customise your own mech and wade through an onslaught of enemies to prove that you’re the greatest mech higher. No release date for this one yet, but it’s coming to Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro.

Racket Club

This one does what it says on the tin. Racket Club is a multiplayer tennis game where up to four players can compete to see who has Fererrer-like skills. The game will also feature a single-player mode for those who order to hit the court solo. No release date yet, but Racket Club is on its way to Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro.

A single-player RPG set in the World of Darkness, Vampire: The Masquerade – Justice Has you assuming the role of a vampire in a shadowy Venice. Using your vampiric abilities, you’ll be able to prey on the hapless Italian citizens and bring justice to those who have wronged you. VTM Justice is coming to Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro in late 2023.

Dungeons of Eternity

A one-to-three-player co-op title, Dungeons of Eternity is a dungeon crawler that has teams battling through hordes of supernatural; enemies in procedurally-generated levels that will change with every run. Swords, spells, potions and a whole manner of threatening enemies are shown off in the trailer, so this is one to watch. Coming to Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro in 2023.

7th Guest VR

Bringing the classic 90s puzzle series into the modern age and into virtual reality, 7th Guest VR has players exploring a spooky mansion filled with mysteries to solve and secrets to uncover. Using your powers of deduction to work your way through ghostly puzzles, you’ll unlock new rooms in the manor and get closer to revealing the truth. 7th Guest VR will come to Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro in 2023.

Arizona Sunshine 2

Revealed during the most recent PlayStation Showcase, Arizona Sunshine 2 continues on from the original zombie-blasting adventure with plenty of new gadgets and weapons and a new doggo companion, Buddy. This one will release on Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro in 2023.

Stranger Things VR

Another game that we’ve known about but seen very little of is Stranger Things VR. Giving players the chance to embody Vecna, the big bad from season four of Netflix’s hit show, you will explore and dominate the Upside Down as you prepare to exact revenge on Eleven and the rest of the Hawkins gang. Coming to Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro in 2023.

Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable

While I’m not much of an anime man myself, I know that fans of the series will be very keen for Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable. Swinging around using your ODM Gear, players will be able to take the fight to the huge Titans. Aim for the back of the neck…right? You’ll want to be a tenured VR player for this one, as swinging around at break-neck speeds will be pretty intense. This one is dropping on Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro in 2023.

Bulletstorm VR

Oh yeah, let’s go. People Can Fly’s criminally underrated shooter is making its way to VR in all of its skill-shot-focused glory. Bulletstorm VR will be a first-person experience where killing your opponents in the goriest and most creative ways in the name of the game. Good lord, this looks like fun. Bulletstorm is coming to Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro in 2023.

Assassin’s Creed Nexus

The news of an Assassin’s Creed game in VR dropped some time ago, but it’s been radio silent since. Here we got confirmation that the Assassin’s Creed Nexus will be coming to Meta Quest this year and that a full reveal can be expected during the Ubisoft Forward event on June 13.

Asgard’s Wrath 2

A direct sequel to the first game, Asgard’s Wrath 2 will continue the story, with the player being tasked with stopping Loki’s rampage across ancient Egypt. Set to Black Sabbath’s War Pigs, this trailer kicks arse, giving us a healthy look at the brutal melee combat that we can expect from the game when it releases on Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro.
