You know those bits on crime thrillers where they search the bad guy’s house and they find the room with the walls covered in newspaper clippings and the same phrases scrawled countless times across every surface? That’s what my place looks like – except the ‘clippings’ are printed articles from gaming outlets (including this one, naturally) and the phrase scribbled all over the walls (with an undisclosed substance) is:
When is Biomutant coming out?!
Announced back in August 2017, Biomutant has been hovering around at the top of my ‘Most Anticipated’ lists for each year since. It’s 2020 now though, and the game has still yet to materialise. Like most fans, I’m perfectly okay with waiting as long as it takes for the team to produce something that they’re truly proud of, but I’m sure I’m not alone in wishing I knew how much longer that wait will be.
Surely hearing our cries, Experiment 101 took to Twitter recently to share the following statement, which primarily assures fans that the game is still in development:
So no release date yet, then, but an assurance that the game is in the ‘final stages’ of development. This likely means that the game is feature-complete and playable from beginning to end, but still needs that final layer of polish and optimisation for each platform that it’s releasing on. Interestingly, Experiment 101 were reaching out on Twitter to find more programmers to work on the game only a month ago:
If you are a programmer (C++) up for a new challenge and interested in helping us wrap up @Biomutant & curious about the future @Experiment1O1 don’t hesitate to get in touch! Send us a mail: info(at)https://t.co/eJVYWm6mhF
You need to live in Sweden & preferably speak Swedish.
