Forspoken’s Final Deep Dive Video Explores The Mystical World Of Athia

Luminous lands

Publisher Square Enix and developer Luminous Productions have released the third and final Forspoken deep dive video, focusing on the magical world that the game takes place in.

The first two videos highlighted the traversal and combat skills that protagonist Frey has in her arsenal, but this time we look at Athia, the lands in which these abilities will be used. Quest givers will be dotted around the map, along with points of interest that require exploration. Monuments will also be littered throughout the landscape, acting as looming totems that grant Frey power once they are freed from the corruption of the Tantas (Forspoken’s antagonists), often requiring a test of skill in the form of a Flashback.

Founts of Blessing and Spellcraft Challenges are other points of interest that will help Frey grow in power, unlocking new abilities and strengthening current ones. Along your journey in Athia, you’ll find Old Coins, collectables that can be traded at vendors for items.

Underneath the plains of Athia are Locked Labyrinths. These dungeons are home to dangerous foes and tough challenges that, once overcome, will reward Frey with high-level gear. When you’re not battling against beasties, Frey can play a game of the dice-like Partha, soak in the sights at Photo Spots, or, I can’t stress this enough, hunt down cats to befriend.

Forspoken releases on PS5 and PC on January 24, 2023.
