Fort Triumph Early Access – First Impressions

Want a little fantasy X-COM mixed with Heroes of Might and Magic?

Ever wanted to kick a crate into a goblin and splatter it against a tree? How about cutting that same tree down to crush an ogre?

Fort Triumph may well have you covered on both fronts.

From CookieByte Entertainment, this plucky little title comes out of nowhere with a whole lot of heart, and a quirky cast of party members to save their fantasy world from cartoonish evil. Although the content of this early access is fairly limited, I absolutely loved my time with it. I’ve played similar games that either alienated me with the complexity of their systems, or have unfortunately not aged well. Fort Triumph however focuses on making sure what it delivers works brilliantly and left me eager to see where it ends up.

Coming in at $19.99 USD, it’s a bit of an investment given that the game is still missing a majority of it’s content. However it does show great promise, with a fun tone and a solid gameplay hook that is simple to pick up and rewarding to master.
