Free Yakuza 6 Demo Out Today, But There’s a Catch

It’s enormous

At the beginning of this month, SEGA announced that the release date of the much-anticipated Western release of Yakuza 6 had been pushed back from its original date of March 20th to April 17th, a delay of almost a month. As disappointing as this delay is, the simultaneous announcement of a free demo coming at the end of the month definitely softened the blow.

Well, today’s the day folks. The free Yakuza 6 demo is live now on the PlayStation Network Store and…

Holy shit. 36GB.

If the English demo is anything like the Japanese one, it’s at least a pretty substantial slice of gameplay, but there’s no denying that the file size seems ridiculous. It does appear that the demo can be ‘started’ after an initial 13GB download, but there’s no word yet on how much can be played at that point.

On behalf of all of us who’ll be waiting a few days for this to download, enjoy the demo and don’t forget to come back here for our review of the final game ahead of release on April 17th.
