Oh Boy, Shadow The ‘Edgehog Returns For Sonic X Shadow Generations

Step into the air shoes of the ultimate lifeform

Sonic the Hedgehog fans can unanimously agree on a few things:

  1. Be wary when browsing Sonic fanart
  2. Sonic Generations was a great game
  3. Shadow the Hedgehog is so silly he manages to wrap all the way around to being cool

And with Sony’s State of Play showcase today, we can lean into the last two points with a sweet announce trailer for Sonic X Shadow Generations, a delightfully Shadow themed sequel (expansion? collection?) to Sonic Generations.

Check out the amazing trailer below:

Looking to be an enhanced re-release of the prior game, we get to see some delightful douchebags from Shadow’s previous game entries – including Black Doom, an edgelord that actually manages to out-edge Shadow himself.

Given the spotlight is fast approaching Shadow the Hedgehog for his big film debut in Sonic The Hedgehog 3, this appears to be a solid strategy to get people up to speed on exactly who he is. It helps that Sonic Generations is a fantastic title – so the more hands that get to play it, the better. That, and Shadow was a ripper presence in the Sonic Prime TV series.

I for one am positively amped for Sonic Generations 2: Shadow’s Boogaloo, so bring on Q3 of this year when I can get my mitts on it.
