Sydney based developer duo Fuzzy Ghost has today announced an experimental, interactive EP in collaboration with the band Magic City Counterpoint called Dialogue. The experience, which can be played for free in your browser over on Itch.io, is a celebration of the band’s first EP and looks to combine the ethereal musical stylings of the local duo with the eclectic design ethos of Fuzzy Ghost. It isn’t the first time we’ve seen these two work together though as Magic City Counterpoint penned the signature track Fern Bells from Fuzzy Ghost’s breakout hit Queer Man Peering Into A Rock Pool.jpg.
Magic City Countpoint is comprised of Madeleine Cocolas and Chris Perren, solo artists who collaborate on the band and produce a distinct electronic sound. Described as “a highly textural body of musical work, combining ethereal vocal layered with processed field recordings and earthy analog textures”, Dialogue is the perfect match for the award-winning studio that has made a name for itself on the Australian game development scene.
“We are super excited to announce that we’ve cooked up something new to celebrate the release of Magic City Counterpoint’s debut EP,” said Pete Foley and Scott Ford of Fuzzy Ghost, “We dug up many familiar assets from QMP and built a new island”. If it’s anything at all like the original game, Dialogue will be best experienced by dimming the lights, popping on your best headphones and just letting yourself fall into the lavender haze that is this team’s work.
