In a surprise announcement during today’s PlayStation Showcase event, developers behind the gorgeous indie platformer GRIS have shown off its brand new game Neva. Nomada Studio is no strangers to striking art style and emotional storytelling in games, a pedigree already on full display in the Neva trailer that features a woman and her pet wolf doing battle with formless evil that eventually claims the life of her animal partner. Not all is lost though as a young cub approaches the woman and as the two begin to realise their new reality, we cut to a logo and are left with more questions than answers.
“Neva is our own newborn baby, a love song dedicated to our children, our parents, and our planet. It tells the moving tale of a young woman and her lifelong bond with a magnificent wolf as they embark on a thrilling adventure through a rapidly dying world” says Nomada Studio co-founder Adrian Cuevas via the PlayStation Blog. The game is published by Devolver Digital and while no concrete date has been confirmed, Nova should be arriving on most platforms sometimes this year.
