There were a few announcements made at this year’s Video Game Awards that were unexpected to say the least. The unveiling of the Xbox Series X was undoubtedly the big ticket reveal seeing as though it is next-gen hardware, but there will need to be games worth playing on this new beast to make it worthwhile. In steps this gem of a surprise: Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.
Now if you haven’t played Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice I urge you to stop what you are doing (after reading this of course) and seek it out. Haunting, thought provoking and incredibly engaging, the original Hellblade is one of the best games of this generation, earning the 9.8 that we scored it. Thoughtfully dealing with the very sensitive topic of mental health, it used grim imagery and incredible audio masterfully and if the trailer for it’s sequel is anything to go by, we are in for more of exactly that:
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II doesn’t have a release date or window as of yet, but it has been confirmed to be releasing on the newly announced Xbox Series X.
What do you think of this first look at Hellblade II? Have you played the original? Let us know.
